Description
This stunning, one of a kind table was hand-crafted by a local artist in Spokane, WA using ammonite fossils collected during expeditions by he and his wife in Montana over a number of years. The fossils are preserved in clear epoxy resin which constitutes the top of the table, and gives the effect of looking into a clear stream and seeing these beautiful treasures waiting to be collected. The circular top freely rests in a driftwood cradle, which comprises the top section of the table base. This driftwood base has been heavily lacquered to have a sheen that matches the top, and also includes several small glass sculptures on the bottom which were also handblown by the same artist. As can be seen in the first picture, the top of the table comes alive in the light, showing different colors and further enhancing the effect of looking into a clear mountain stream. It’s hard to overstate just what a rare and unique piece of art and history this table represents; it was clearly a labor of love and a masterpiece from a very talented and versatile craftsman.See
