Description

Val’s Dollhouse is proud to present this stately solid mahogany estate sourced George III style dining suite by respected American manufacturer, Drexel Heritage. From their classic and utterly time Covington Park Collection, we offer a set of eight Chippendale dining chairs (6 side chairs plus 2 armchairs) with new upholstery & fill, plus expandable pedestal flame mahogany dining table with two leaves.
Custom table pads are also included, which are particularly useful for hosting buffets with no worries about spills or splashes on the table itself.
Once expanded, the table can sit up to 10. It may also accommodate 12 with two chairs at the ends due to its width and double pedestal bases.
This superior set stands apart from the others.
*** please message us or see our Chairish shop for the coordinating case goods hutch in this collection (if not previously sold). Due to the fine craftsmanship and expertly matched wood selection of the pieces, we prefer to keep the set together for cohesion, as well as legacy value for its new custodian. They are meant to stay together! ***

The table:
Featuring movement and variation in color only created by nature, the top is stunning! A marquetry inlay border accents the perimeter. Two four-legged pedestals support the top, each with four stylized columns in the Georgian / Chippendale aesthetic. Each of the feet is capped with brass paw feet. Brass connectors for accepting the expansion leaves. Two 20″ leaves are included to expand the table from 78″ long to 98″ or 118″ at full extension.

The Georgian Chairs:
Generously sized and comfortable for a long dining engagement. In classic style but exceptional craftsmanship, these chairs are a set to behold. Featuring a center shell motif at each inner back, acanthus leaf details at chair back sides as well as the arms of the captain’s chairs, all punctuated by oversized ball and claw feet at the front legs.
The seats have been recently professionally reupholstered and over-stuffed for a luxurious yet firm dining chair. The fabric is a versatile taupe-brown weave that complements yet will not compete with any style selection on the tablescape.

Minor nicks and scrapes to the chair feet, sides and backs which will be touched up prior to shipment. Overall 9/10 condition with wear commensurate with a very well-cared for 25-year-old dining set. The main tabletop is in exceptional condition, very minor blemishes on close inspection.Table leaves: One of the leaves has a significant scratch with finish still intact, barely discernable, but visible when the light hits it just right; the other leaf has a minor (about 4 mm) ding on the edge.I have seen many tables of this style over the years. This one in particular shows exceptionally well, in fact, it is tempting me to keep it for myself!
