Description

Louis XVI Style Figural Putti Ormolu & Bronze Tole Bouillotte Lamp
France, 19th century, electrified Circa 1925

This exquisite Louis XVI-style figural Bouillotte lamp from France, made in the 19th century and electrified circa 1925, is a fine representation of exceptional artistry and elegance. Standing 26.5 inches high to the top of the finial, this lamp features a finely cast patinated bronze figure of a seated putto, artfully depicted naked but draped, exuding a sense of classical refinement. The putto gracefully holds an ormolu leaf column, which supports the neoclassical tole shade, measuring 6 inches in height and 13.5 inches in diameter, beautifully adorned with gilt decorations. The shade is topped with a stylish ormolu pomegranate finial, adding a touch of sophistication. The lamp is mounted on a striking Carrera marble base, 7 inches wide by 6 inches deep, with ormolu accents that further enhance its opulent appeal. This lamp is not just a source of light but a decorative statement piece, ready to be placed and admired in any elegant setting. Its time design and fine craftsmanship make it a treasured addition to any collection of classic French decor.
