Description
On offer is a perfect MCM design classic Venetian glass vase made on the island of Murano, near Venice, Italy. Several Murano factories have made sommerso glassware in this faceted style, including Mandruzzato, Bucella Cristalli, Campanella, Oball, and V. Nason. As with most sommerso glass, many sellers attribute this to a Flavio Poli design for Seguso Vetri d’Arte, however there is no evidence that SVA ever made these (none shown in their factory catalogues, and none found with their labels), and plenty of evidence that other factories did. A stunning combination of red glass cased in a band of amber glass, which is further encased in an angular block of pale peach colored glass, using the renowned Venetian Sommerso technique. The vase is approx 10″ tall, and each side is approx 2.5″ in width. Weight 3lb 15oz. This vase is in excellent condition.See
