Description
Thom Shaw (USA/Cincinnati 1947-2010) is known for his stark black and white woodcuts (actually masonite rather than wood) which graphically depict the horrors of inner-city life (Taft: Museum of Art).He drew inspiration from the environment that he encountered as well as from his own personal struggles with chronic illnesses that plagued him during much of his life.
