Description

Gorgeous, vibrant richly colored jewelry box from the 1800s. A souvenir from La Chappelle St. Louis, DREUX. The top showcases of magnificent painted photo portrait of the chapel with a blue and pink night sky in the background. The glass is heavy and beveled and thick, trimmed along the edges with filigree that snaps shut tight. The feet are turned out with a little rococo detailing and the inside is fitted with a silk tufted interior. Great condition for an old piece like this. The back is hinged and there is minor wear commensurate with age but nothing really to speak of except a little off kilter. Wonderful souvenir from a bygone era. France, circa 1870.See
